1. 1. Complete Required Firearms Training:
   – New Applicants: 16 hours of in-person training with an MSP-Qualified Instructor (classroom + live-fire)
   – Renewals: 8 hours of renewal training + live-fire requalification
2. 2. Get Fingerprinted (LiveScan):
   Required only for new applicants. If you are renewing and fingerprints were submitted with your original application, no new fingerprints are required.
   
   For new applicants: visit a certified Maryland fingerprint provider and give them the following details:
   • Authorization Number: 9400082484
   • ORI: MDMSP6000
   • Reason: MD Public Safety § 5‑305 (Wear & Carry)

3. 3. Prepare Required Documents:
   – Government-issued photo ID (front & back)
   – Training certificate (initial or renewal)
   – LiveScan fingerprint receipt (if new applicant)
   – Passport-style photo (color, recent)
